Bhagavad Gita BG 9.27

Chapter 9, Verse 27 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

यत्करोषि यदश्नासि यज्जुहोषि ददासि यत् । यत्तपस्यसि कौन्तेय तत्कुरुष्व मदर्पणम् ॥

yat karoshi yad ashnasi yaj juhoshi dadasi yat yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kurushva mad-arpanam

Meaning

Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer in sacrifice, whatever you give, whatever austerity you perform — O Kaunteya — do that as an offering to Me.

Understanding

The total integration: yat karoshi (whatever you do), yad ashnasi (whatever you eat), yaj juhoshi (whatever you offer in yajna), dadasi yat (whatever you give in charity), yat tapasyasi (whatever austerity you perform) — tat kurushva mad-arpanam (do all that as an offering to Me). Five domains of life — action, eating, ritual, charity, austerity — all transformed by one orientation: offering to Me. Not a special new practice but the transformation of existing life by the direction of intention. Everything becomes yajna.
