Bhagavad Gita BG 9.22

Chapter 9, Verse 22 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

अनन्याश्चिन्तयन्तो मां ये जनाः पर्युपासते । तेषां नित्याभियुक्तानां योगक्षेमं वहाम्यहम् ॥

ananyash cintayanto mam ye janah paryupasate tesham nityabhiyuktanam yoga-kshamam vahamyaham

Meaning

For those who worship Me with undivided thought — meditating on Me constantly — for those who are always devoted, I carry what they do not have and preserve what they already have.

Understanding

One of the most beloved promises of the Gita: ananyash (undivided, not-other) cintayantah (meditating, thinking of) mam (Me) ye janah paryupasate (those people who worship fully). For tesham nityabhiyuktanam (the always-devoted) — yogakshemam vahamyaham — I (aham) carry (vahami) their yoga-kshema. Yoga = what is not yet had (acquisition of new needs). Kshema = preservation of what is already had. Both: I handle. The absolute personal promise: the undivided devotee's wellbeing, in both acquisition and preservation, is personally handled by Krishna.
