Bhagavad Gita BG 8.27

Chapter 8, Verse 27 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

नैते सृती पार्थ जानन् योगी मुह्यति कश्चन । तस्मात्सर्वेषु कालेषु योगयुक्तो भवार्जुन ॥

naite srti partha janan yogi muhyati kashcana tasmAt sarveshu kaleshu yoga-yukto bhav'Arjuna

Meaning

O Partha, knowing these two paths, no yogi is deluded. Therefore, at all times, be yoga-yukta (united in yoga), O Arjuna.

Understanding

The practical conclusion of the two-paths teaching: naite srti janan — knowing these two paths (of no-return and of return) — na muhyati (is not deluded). Any yogi who understands the cosmic framework of departure is freed from the confusion and fear about death. And the final directive: tasmAt (therefore) sarveshu kAleshu (at ALL times) yoga-yukto bhava — be united in yoga. The chapter's practical teaching circles back: whatever the cosmic framework, the path for YOU is yoga-yukta at all times.
