Bhagavad Gita BG 8.14

Chapter 8, Verse 14 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

अनन्यचेताः सततं यो मां स्मरति नित्यशः । तस्याहं सुलभः पार्थ नित्ययुक्तस्य योगिनः ॥

ananya-cetah satatam yo mam smarati nityashah tasyaham sulabhah partha nitya-yuktasya yoginah

Meaning

Whoever remembers Me constantly, always, with undivided mind — for that yogi ever united, I am easily attained, O Partha.

Understanding

The positive assurance behind the death-teaching: ananya-cetah (undivided mind — ananya = not-other, single, not directed to anything other than Me) satatam nityashah (constantly, always, daily without break) yo mam smarati (whoever remembers Me). For tasya (that one) — nitya-yukta yoginah (the yogi ever united) — aham sulabhah (I am easily attained — su-labha: good/easy to obtain). Sulabhah is the word of grace: easily attained, not with great difficulty. The undivided, continuous remembrance makes the Supreme easily, naturally present.
