Bhagavad Gita BG 7.30

Chapter 7, Verse 30 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

साधिभूताधिदैवं मां साधियज्ञं च ये विदुः । प्रयाणकालेऽपि च मां ते विदुर्युक्तचेतसः ॥

sadhibhutadhidaivam mam sadhiyajnam ca ye viduh prayana-kale 'pi ca mam te vidur yukta-cetasah

Meaning

Those who know Me along with adhibhuta, adhidaiva, and adhiyajna — even at the time of departure (death), with united mind, they know Me.

Understanding

The three cosmic dimensions of Krishna (adhibhuta — the domain of beings, adhidaiva — the domain of the divine powers, adhiyajna — the domain of sacrifice/cosmic law) will be explained at the start of Chapter 8. But the key phrase here: prayana-kale 'pi (even at the time of death/departure). Those who know Krishna in all three dimensions — even at the final moment (the moment when most minds are fully distracted by fear) — know Me. This verse closes Chapter 7 by pointing forward to Chapter 8's teaching on death and the beyond.
