Bhagavad Gita BG 7.29

Chapter 7, Verse 29 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

जरामरणमोक्षाय मामाश्रित्य यतन्ति ये । ते ब्रह्म तद्विदुः कृत्स्नं अध्यात्मं कर्म चाखिलम् ॥

jara-marana-moksaya mam ashritya yatanti ye te brahma tad viduh krtsnam adhyatmam karma cakhilam

Meaning

Those who strive for liberation from old age and death, taking refuge in Me — they know that Brahman completely, all that is adhyatma, and all action.

Understanding

Those who take refuge in Krishna striving for jara-marana-moksha (liberation from old age — the decay of the body — and death). What do they receive? Te brahma tat viduh krtsnam — they know that Brahman completely (not partially). And adhyatmam (the entire domain of the inner self — adhyatma) and karma cakhilam (all action, the entire field of karma). The one who seeks liberation through surrender to Krishna receives complete knowledge — theoretical AND practical.
