Bhagavad Gita BG 7.28

Chapter 7, Verse 28 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

येषां त्वन्तगतं पापं जनानां पुण्यकर्मणाम् । ते द्वन्द्वमोहनिर्मुक्ता भजन्ते मां दृढव्रताः ॥

yesham tv anta-gatam papam janam punya-karmanam te dvandva-moha-nirmuktA bhajante mam drdha-vratah

Meaning

But those virtuous people whose sin has come to an end — freed from the delusion of the dvandvas — they worship Me with firm vow.

Understanding

The positive contrast to v27: yesham anta-gatam papam (those whose sin has reached its end — purified, exhausted) and punya-karmanam (those of virtuous/punya actions). These are dvandva-moha-nirmukta (freed from the delusion of the pairs of opposites). And they bhajante mam drdha-vratah — worship Me with drdha-vrata (firm vow, steady resolve). The liberation from dvandva-moha is the fruit of exhausted sin and accumulated punya — and it expresses as firm, unwavering worship.
