Bhagavad Gita BG 7.21

Chapter 7, Verse 21 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

यो यो यां यां तनुं भक्तः श्रद्धयार्चितुमिच्छति । तस्य तस्याचलां श्रद्धां तामेव विदधाम्यहम् ॥

yo yo yam yam tanum bhaktah shraddha-yarcitum icchati tasya tasyacalam shraddham tam eva vidadhamy aham

Meaning

Whatever form a devotee with shraddha wishes to worship — I make that very faith firm and unwavering for that devotee.

Understanding

A deeply compassionate verse: whatever form (yam yam tanum) a bhakta (devotee) with shraddha wishes to worship — I (Krishna) vidadhami (establish, make firm) acalam shraddham (unwavering faith) for that very devotee. Krishna himself strengthens the faith of the devotee toward whatever form they have chosen. Even the worship of other divine forms is secretly sustained by Krishna. The One appears as the Many and accepts worship through all forms.
