Bhagavad Gita BG 6.47

Chapter 6, Verse 47 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

योगिनामपि सर्वेषां मद्गतेनान्तरात्मना । श्रद्धावान् भजते यो मां स मे युक्ततमो मतः ॥

yoginam api sarvesham mad-gatenAntaratmana shraddhavan bhajate yo mam sa me yuktatamo matah

Meaning

Of all yogis, the one who worships Me with shraddha, inner self gone to Me — that one is considered by Me to be the most united (yuktatama), the most excellent.

Understanding

The final verse and the apex of the chapter. Among all (sarvesham) yogis — the best is: shraddhavan (full of shraddha — earnest faith) who bhajate mam (worships Me) with mad-gatena antaratmana (inner self entirely gone to Me — not just intellectually directed but the whole antaratman, the innermost being, flowing toward Krishna). Sa me yuktatamah matah — considered by Me as the most yukta (most united, most excellently yoked). The highest yoga is the integration of the personal devotion to Krishna with the non-dual knowledge of chapters 4-6.
