Bhagavad Gita BG 6.29
Chapter 6, Verse 29 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
सर्वभूतस्थमात्मानं सर्वभूतानि चात्मनि । ईक्षते योगयुक्तात्मा सर्वत्र समदर्शनः ॥
sarva-bhuta-stham atmanam sarva-bhutani catmani iksate yoga-yuktAtma sarvatra sama-darshanah
Meaning
The yogi whose self is united in yoga sees the Self in all beings and all beings in the Self — everywhere, with equal vision.
Understanding
The pinnacle of yoga-vision: two simultaneous perceptions. (1) Sarva-bhuta-stham atmanam — the Atman (Self) as dwelling in all beings. (2) Sarva-bhutani catmani — all beings as dwelling in the Atman. These are not sequential views but simultaneous — the All in the One and the One in the All, at once. Sarvatra sama-darshanah (sama-darshanah everywhere) — equal vision everywhere. Not selective equality but universal. The yoga-yuktAtma (the one whose self is united in yoga) sees this without effort.
