Bhagavad Gita BG 6.28
Chapter 6, Verse 28 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
युञ्जन्नेवं सदात्मानं योगी विगतकल्मषः । सुखेन ब्रह्मसंस्पर्शं अत्यन्तं सुखमश्नुते ॥
yunjan evam sada atmanam yogi vigata-kalmashaha sukhena brahma-samsparsa atyantam sukham ashnute
Meaning
Ever yoking the self in this way, the yogi free of impurities — easily touching Brahman — enjoys supreme, boundless happiness.
Understanding
Vigata-kalmasha (free from impurities) — purification is the prerequisite. Sukhena (with ease, with happiness — not with strain) brahma-samsparsha (touching Brahman — a beautiful, intimate word: 'contact with Brahman,' as if touching the infinite). Atyantam sukham ashnute — enjoys boundless, absolute (atyantam) happiness. Note that the means and the end are both sukha: 'sukhena' (easily/happily) as the method, and 'atyantam sukham' as the fruit. The journey and the destination share the same quality.
