Bhagavad Gita BG 4.9

Chapter 4, Verse 9 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

जन्म कर्म च मे दिव्यम् एवं यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतः । त्यक्त्वा देहं पुनर्जन्म नैति मामेति सोऽर्जुन ॥

janma karma ca me divyam evam yo vetti tattvatah tyaktva deham punar janma naitim ameti so 'rjuna

Meaning

One who knows thus, in truth, My divine birth and action — on leaving the body, that one is not reborn; they come to Me, O Arjuna.

Understanding

The liberating power of understanding Krishna's divine nature. Tattvatah (in truth, in reality — not intellectually but experientially). One who knows that Krishna's birth is divya (divine, not karma-driven) and His actions are divine (not ego-motivated) — tyaktva deham (on leaving this body), na eti punar janma (does not take rebirth). Instead, mam eti — comes to Me. Knowing the nature of the divine frees one from the cycle.
