Bhagavad Gita BG 4.24
Chapter 4, Verse 24 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्म हविः ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् । ब्रह्मैव तेन गन्तव्यं ब्रह्मकर्मसमाधिना ॥
brahmarpanambrahma havir brahmagnaur brahmana hutam brahmaiva tena gantavyam brahma-karma-samadhina
Meaning
The offering instrument is Brahman, the oblation is Brahman, offered by Brahman in the fire of Brahman — Brahman alone is to be reached by one who is absorbed in Brahman through action.
Understanding
The most non-dual description of yajna: every element of the ritual becomes Brahman itself. Brahmarpana (the offering-spoon is Brahman), brahma havih (the oblation is Brahman), brahmagnauh (in the fire of Brahman), brahmana hutam (offered by Brahman — the officiant is Brahman). When all distinctions dissolve into the one Reality, action becomes pure Being. Brahma-karma-samadhi: samadhi (absorbed awareness) while performing karma — the goal of karma yoga.
