Bhagavad Gita BG 18.78
Chapter 18, Verse 78 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
यत्र योगेश्वरः कृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धरः । तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिर्ध्रुवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम ॥
yatra yogeshvarah krsno yatra partho dhanur-dharah tatra shrir vijayo bhutir dhruva nitir matir mama
Meaning
Where there is Krishna, the Lord of Yoga — where there is Arjuna, the archer — there, in my judgment, are prosperity, victory, abundance, and firm righteousness (niti).
Understanding
Sanjaya's concluding declaration — the Gita's final verse. Yatra yogeshvarah krsno (where there is Krishna — the Lord of Yoga, the Yogeshvara). Yatra partho dhanur-dharah (where there is Arjuna with his bow — the active, committed devotee in full engagement). Tatra — there: shri (prosperity/grace), vijaya (victory), bhutih (abundance), dhruva niti (firm righteousness). Mat-mati (my opinion, my judgment). When the Divine and the devoted-awake human act together — grace, victory, abundance, and righteousness naturally follow. The Gita ends not on a personal note but on a social one: when the Divine-human partnership is active, the world flourishes.
