Bhagavad Gita BG 18.72
Chapter 18, Verse 72 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
कच्चिदेतच्छ्रुतं पार्थ त्वयैकाग्रेण चेतसा । कच्चिदज्ञानसम्मोहः प्रणष्टस्ते धनञ्जय ॥
kaccid etac chrutam partha tvayaikAgrena cetasa kaccid ajnana-sammohah pranashtas te dhananjaya
Meaning
Has this been heard by you, O Partha, with undivided attention? Has your delusion born of ignorance been destroyed, O Dhananjaya?
Understanding
Krishna's closing question — the teaching's assessment. Kaccid etat shrutam tvaya ekAgena cetasa (has this been heard with one-pointed/undivided mind — ekAgrena). And the crucial question: kaccid ajnana-sammohah pranashtas te (has the delusion born of ignorance been destroyed/dissipated in you). This echoes Ch2's opening: Arjuna was full of moha (delusion/bewilderment). Has the 18-chapter teaching done its work? The question is also asked of every student: have you heard with undivided attention, and has the teaching dissolved your fundamental bewilderment?
