Bhagavad Gita BG 18.65

Chapter 18, Verse 65 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

मन्मना भव मद्भक्तो मद्याजी मां नमस्कुरु । मामेवैष्यसि सत्यं ते प्रतिजाने प्रियोऽसि मे ॥

man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru mam evaisyasi satyam te pratijane priyo 'si me

Meaning

Fix your mind on Me, be devoted to Me, worship Me, bow to Me — you shall come to Me. I promise you truly — you are dear to Me.

Understanding

The supreme, most intimate instruction. Man-mana bhava (fix your mind on Me — mana = mind, mat-mana = My-minded). Mad-bhakto (be devoted to Me — utterly, exclusively). Mad-yaji (worship Me). Mam namaskuru (bow to Me). Mam eva eishyasi (you shall come to Me — guaranteed). Satyam te pratijane (I promise you truly — the word 'satyam' makes this an oath). And the most intimate ending: priyo asi me (you are dear to Me — the word of love, the word of relationship). This verse is often considered the most important single verse of the Gita.
