Understanding

The content of the Kshetra (the Field) is now enumerated. The Field includes everything in the manifest: mahabhutani (the five great elements: earth, water, fire, air, ether). Ahankara (the ego/sense of 'I'). Buddhi (intellect). Avyakta (the unmanifest prakriti — the unmanifest root of matter). Indriyani dashaikam (the ten senses + one = eleven: five jnanendriyas perception + five karmendriyas action + mind). Panca ca indriya-gocara (five sense-objects). The field is everything that IS — including the mind, ego, intellect, and the sense of 'I'. The Knower is what KNOWS all this.
