Bhagavad Gita BG 13.34
Chapter 13, Verse 34 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
यथा प्रकाशयत्येकः कृत्स्नं लोकमिमं रविः । क्षेत्रं क्षेत्री तथा कृत्स्नं प्रकाशयति भारत ॥
yatha prakashayaty ekah krtsnam lokam imam ravih kshetram kshetri tatha krtsnam prakashayati bharata
Meaning
As the one sun illumines this whole world, so the lord of the field illumines the entire field, O Bharata.
Understanding
Krishna ends the teaching on field and knower with the image of the sun. One sun lights the whole world without being changed or stained by what it lights. In the same way the kshetri, the knower and lord of the field, makes the whole field, body, senses and mind, shine with awareness. The next verse summarises the chapter.
