Bhagavad Gita BG 13.28
Chapter 13, Verse 28 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम् । विनश्यत्स्वविनश्यन्तं यः पश्यति स पश्यति ॥
samam sarveshu bhuteshu tishthantam parameshvaram vinashyatsv avinashyantam yah pashyati sa pashyati
Meaning
One who sees the Supreme Lord dwelling equally in all beings, the imperishable within the perishing — that one truly sees.
Understanding
The central vision of Ch13: samam sarveshu bhuteshu tishthantam parameshvaram (the Supreme Lord dwelling EQUALLY in all beings — not more in some, less in others, but equal in all). Vinashyatsv avinashyantam (the imperishable within the perishing — the eternal Consciousness within impermanent forms). Yah pashyati sa pashyati (whoever sees THIS — that one truly sees). This is the double vision that defines enlightenment: seeing the One Constant (Parameshvara/Atman) within the multiplicity of perishing forms. Not denying the multiplicity; seeing the One within it.
