Understanding

Krishna closes the teaching of kshetra-kshetrajna with a summary: iti kshetram tatha jnanam jneyam coktam samasatah (thus the field, knowledge, and the knowable have been briefly told). Mad-bhakta etad vijnaya (My devotee, having truly known/understood this) — vijnaya (not merely heard but KNOWN — direct understanding). Mad-bhavaya upapadyate (attains My state/being). Mad-bhava (My state) — not mere merit or heavenly reward but BRAHMAN-NATURE itself. The devotee who truly understands the Field, the Knower, and Brahman attains the nature of the Divine. This verse is the fruit-declaration of the chapter's first half.
