Bhagavad Gita BG 11.7

Chapter 11, Verse 7 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

इहैकस्थं जगत्कृत्स्नं पश्याद्य सचराचरम् । मम देहे गुडाकेश यच्चान्यद्द्रष्टुमिच्छसि ॥

ihaika-stham jagat krtsnam pashyadya sa-caracaram mama dehe gudakesha yac canyad drashtum icchasi

Meaning

See here today (adya) the entire universe (jagat krtsnam), with all moving (cara) and unmoving (acara) beings, in My body (mama dehe), O Gudakesha — and whatever else you desire to see.

Understanding

The most comprehensive invitation in the Gita: ihaika-stham — here, in one place (eka-stha = standing as one). The entire universe — jagat krtsnam (the whole universe, complete, without remainder) — sa-caracaram (with all moving and unmoving beings, every living and non-living thing) — is to be seen mama dehe (in My body). The Divine's body is the universe. This is not pantheism (everything IS god) but the Gita's unique vision: the divine body CONTAINS and exceeds all. And: yac ca anyad drashtum icchasi — and whatever else you wish to see. The grace is total, unlimited. Gudakesha — O Gudakesha (conqueror of sleep — one who has overcome tamas, the sleepy, inert quality). The awakened one is invited to see all.
