Meaning

One who does My work, who regards Me as supreme, who is devoted to Me, free from attachment, without enmity toward any being — such a one comes to Me, O Pandava.

Understanding

The closing verse of Ch11 — the supreme practical summary: five qualities that lead to the Divine. (1) Mat-karma-krt (does My work — acts for the Divine, karma dedicated to Krishna). (2) Mat-paramah (regards Me as supreme — the highest refuge). (3) Mad-bhaktah (devoted to Me — bhakti). (4) Sanga-varjitah (free from attachment — non-clinging). (5) Nirvairaih sarva-bhuteshu (without enmity toward any being — universal non-hostility). Yah sa mam eti (such a one comes to Me). The five qualities integrate all the teachings: karma yoga (1), jnana (2), bhakti (3), vairagya (4), and the ethical foundation of non-harm (5).
