Bhagavad Gita BG 11.36
Chapter 11, Verse 36 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
sthane hrshikesha tava prakirtya jagat prahrsyaty anurajyate ca rakshAmsi bhitani disho dravanti sarve namasyanti ca siddha-sanghah
Meaning
It is fitting, O Hrishikesha, that the world rejoices and is filled with love at your glorification; the demons flee in terror in all directions, and all the hosts of siddhas bow down.
Understanding
Arjuna's prayer of recognition. Sthane (it is fitting, it is right). The entire cosmos responds to the Vishvarupa: jagat prahrsyati anurajyate (the world is filled with joy and love — from the good/devotional). Rakshamshibhitani dishoh dravanti (the rakshasas/demons flee in terror in all directions — the negative). Siddha-sanghah namasyanti (the perfected sages bow down in reverence). Three simultaneous responses to the Divine: the good rejoice in love, the evil flee in terror, the wise bow in reverence. The entire spectrum of consciousness responds to the presence of the Divine.
