Bhagavad Gita BG 11.1

Chapter 11, Verse 1 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

मदनुग्रहाय परमं गुह्यमध्यात्मसंज्ञितम् । यत्त्वयोक्तं वचस्तेन मोहोऽयं विगतो मम ॥

mad-anugrahaya paramam guhyam adhyatma-samjnitam yat tvayoktam vacas tena moho 'yam vigato mama

Meaning

Out of compassion for me, you have spoken of the supreme secret called the adhyatma (the knowledge of the Self). By this, my delusion is dispelled.

Understanding

Arjuna begins his response to Ch10 — the great vibhuti teaching. Mad-anugrahaya (out of compassion for me) — recognizing the teaching as divine grace rather than mere information. Paramam guhyam adhyatma-samjnitam (the supreme secret known as adhyatma — the knowledge of the Self and the Divine). And: moha ayam vigata mama (this delusion of mine is gone). The Ch10 teaching has done its work: Arjuna has moved from the bewildered warrior of Ch1 to one who recognizes the divine in all existence.
