Bhagavad Gita BG 10.28

Chapter 10, Verse 28 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

आयुधानामहं वज्रं धेनूनामस्मि कामधुक् । प्रजनश्चास्मि कन्दर्पः सर्पाणामस्मि वासुकिः ॥

ayudhanam aham vajram dhenam asmi kamadhuk prajanash casmi kandarpah sarpanam asmi vasukiH

Meaning

Among weapons I am the thunderbolt; among cows I am the Kamadhenu (wish-fulfilling cow); among progenitors I am Kandarpa (Kama, the god of love); among serpents I am Vasuki.

Understanding

More vibhutis: (1) Vajram among weapons — Indra's thunderbolt, the most powerful weapon. (2) Kamadhenu among dhenu (cows) — the wish-fulfilling divine cow that gives all that is desired. (3) Kandarpa (Kama, the god of love) as prajanas — the creative life-force, the principle of procreation. Note: this ties back to 7.11's 'dharm-aviruddha kama' — the creative desire aligned with dharma. (4) Vasuki among serpents — king of the nagas.
