Bhagavad Gita BG 10.25

Chapter 10, Verse 25 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

महर्षीणां भृगुरहं गिरामस्म्येकमक्षरम् । यज्ञानां जपयज्ञोऽस्मि स्थावराणां हिमालयः ॥

maharshiNam bhrgur aham giram asmy ekam aksharam yajnanam japa-yajno 'smi sthavaranam himalayah

Meaning

Among the great sages I am Bhrigu; among words I am the one imperishable syllable (OM); among yajnas I am japa-yajna; among the immovable I am the Himalaya.

Understanding

Four more vibhutis: (1) Bhrigu among great sages — one of the primordial rishis, born directly from Brahma. (2) Ekam aksharam among words/utterances — the one imperishable syllable, OM. Not just 'a good word' but the one syllable that is Brahman in sound form. (3) Japa-yajna among yajnas — the practice of japa (repetition of the divine name/mantra) is the highest form of yajna. (4) Among sthavara (immovable things) — the Himalaya, the mightiest, most permanent of all immovable things.
