Bhagavad Gita BG 1.6

Chapter 1, Verse 6 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation

युधामन्युश्च विक्रान्त उत्तमौजाश्च वीर्यवान् । सौभद्रो द्रौपदेयाश्च सर्व एव महारथाः ॥ ६ ॥

yudhāmanyuś ca vikrānta uttamaujāś ca vīryavān saubhadro draupadeyāś ca sarva eva mahārathāḥ

Meaning

The valiant Yudhamanyu, the mighty Uttamaujas, the son of Subhadra (Abhimanyu), and the sons of Draupadi — all are great chariot warriors.

Understanding

The listing concludes with Yudhamanyu and Uttamaujas (warriors from Panchala), Abhimanyu (the heroic son of Arjuna and Subhadra, Krishna's sister), and the five sons born to Draupadi from each of the five Pandavas. All of these are described as mahārathas — the highest category of warrior, capable of fighting ten thousand ordinary soldiers simultaneously.
