Bhagavad Gita BG 1.4
Chapter 1, Verse 4 — Meaning, Translation & Explanation
अत्र शूरा महेष्वासा भीमार्जुनसमा युधि । युयुधानो विराटश्च द्रुपदश्च महारथः ॥ ४ ॥
atra śūrā maheṣvāsā bhīmārjuna-samā yudhi yuyudhāno virāṭaś ca drupadaś ca mahārathaḥ
Meaning
Here in this army are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna: the great warriors Yuyudhana, Virata, and Drupada.
Understanding
Duryodhana begins listing the great Pandava commanders to Drona, perhaps to highlight the real danger they face. He names Satyaki (Yuyudhana), Virata — the king in whose kingdom the Pandavas spent their year in disguise — and Drupada, the father-in-law of the Pandavas and king of Panchala.
